The program aims to protect Lebanon’s coastal zones and marine resources by reducing pollution from land-based sources. The “SWaM Akkar” project, in its first year, develops a participatory master plan for solid waste management in Jurd al Kaytee. It provides the Union of Municipalities with a sustainable waste management tool, following the Integrated Sustainable Waste Management (ISWM) methodology by the CWG community.
