CLIENT: UWAC (Union of Agricultural Work Committees) and GVC NGO

Pilot system under “Making Olive Oil Competitive through Local Value Chain” by UWAC and GVC NGO, funded by EUROPEAID. It addresses olive mill wastewater (OMWW) treatment via integrated composting, fertigation, and anaerobic digestion, overcoming OMWW’s high volume, acidity, and phytotoxicity. Activities include olive mill surveys, organic residue sourcing, compost marketing studies, and exploring biogas co-digestion.
A feasibility study is ongoing to optimize this sustainable waste-to-value approach.
