Feasibility and design of scalable refugee-centered biogas digester using local materials

2015-2016

CLIENT: UNHCR

Studioazue and Difaf, funded by UNHCR, developed a feasibility study for a scalable, cost-effective, refugee-centered biogas digester in Lebanon. Aimed at easing waste and energy strains worsened by the Syrian refugee influx, the project proposes a locally built system using accessible materials to treat waste and generate gas. It enhances health, reduces environmental impact, and supports local livelihoods through a circular, inclusive, and conflict-sensitive energy solution.
