/shufat camp community based sewage and stormwater network, school rain water collection and universal design/palestine 2016-2017

Studioazue is working as a technical consultant in the project called: ““RES.P.I.R.E-RESilience and Protection In A Refugee Environment” in Shufat Refugees Camp in Jerusalem. The project is funded by the Italian Agency for Development and Cooperation and implemented by OVERSEAS NGO in partnership with EDUCAID NGO.

DSCF5462The intervention foresees the continuous involvement of key stakeholders in all phases of project: from appraisal phase to planning and monitoring stages.

A community-based design methodology will be applied to support the following activities:

  1. rehabilitation of sewage and storm water networks in Shufat Camp.
  2.  participative design with teachers and school committee representatives and implementation of solutions in 3 schools in Shufat camp
  3. interactive design and execution of a rain water harvesting system as didactic tool to sensitise young generations on water saving issues in the primary boy school of Shufat camp

The design for school accessibility to disabled people is done with the support of SUM architects.
